At Apex, safety is paramount. Thus, that drive for continuous improvement led to another Apex’s patented safety feature on our pumping units. Introducing CrankLoc, a device deployed via a spring-loaded wheel and screw drive system by the field crew whilst they are safely outside the realm of the moving parts of the pumping unit, namely the crank arms. CrankLoc is a safety enhancement that prevents unwanted crank arm movements in incidence of brake failure when the crank arms are out of the inert position. This is especially critical prior to the safe completion of the Lockout-Tagout procedure.
